SME Siquijor e-Commerce Training

The training on “Website Development for Siquijor SET– UP Beneficiaries” was conducted by the Department of Science and Technology Region 7 with Cvisnet Foundation Inc. last July 20 – 21, 2010 at DOST- Provincial S & T Center , Siquijor. Mr. Jeremy A. Rivas served as the guest speaker of the said training, and was attended by SET-UP project beneficiaries such as Jaireen`s Bakeshop, P. Cortes Welding Shop, Durans, CJP Furniture, and Pajermo Furniture. Each SME has its own representative for the said event.

On the first day, the speaker explained to the SME participants on how e-Commerce websites can help their company to earn, the advantages and disadvantages and the importance of having an e-commerce website. The speaker enumerated the possible problems and solutions of e-Commerce websites that they might encounter, so the SME participants will have an idea on what they are going to do.

The speaker taught them also how to use internet marketing and several strategies on how they can market their products online. On the participant’s side, this training is new to them but they were all eager to acquire this knowledge, for it is very beneficial to their businesses.
